I love this life............I love learning something new everyday. Yesterday I was weeding the front flowerbed when I found this strange looking thing. It is a member of the fungus family called the octopus stinkhorn. The stink is like decayed flesh. Apparently the eggs are edible but not recommended. Thanks but I'll pass on adding to my diet.
Have a wonderful day !

While searching on etsy a few days ago, I came across this lovely Steampunk Exploress Outfit for the "reasonable" price of $510.00. The idea is fairly simple so I pulled a few things out of my closet and put together an out fit of my own. I really think it needs a set of goggles and a hat. I wish I had somewhere to wear it.
Dressing up is such fun !!
Have a great day !

Sweet "Tuffy's" grave..a little overgrown with wildflowers. I buried his little body with his head towards the back door of the house. I still think of him and tears come to my eyes.
Lush wandering Jew growing in the shade.
Gorgeous blood red center Hibiscus. I used to have a white one with the blood red center but it didn't make it through the winter.
Have a great day !

I recently purchased a PDF tutorial, from another artist on etsy, on how to make wire bird nest pendants. They are usually made with pearls for the eggs....however I had a small selection of tiny bird egg beads in shades of pink, green and taupe. The beads are small and finely painted to look like a real bird egg.
The nest itself is about one inch across and takes over 36 inches of wire. I must say....I am happy with the result.
I chose to make the first nest with the green eggs. I have two shades of green antiqued seam binding and now have to choose between the darker "Herb" or the lighter "Shoots".
All this creativity is making me feel very spring like.
Have a wonderful spring weekend.

I am in the process of collecting these adorable vintage Cracker Jack celluloid prizes and creating pretty Little earrings. I have already posted them for sale at my sweetlaraine.etsy.com shop.
Have a great day and a wonderful weekend !

I have to admit.....I only supervised the spring cleaning of my yard. I did not cut down any trees or drag dead trees out of the ground. The only thing that changed was the using of a different weight of wire from dead soft to half hard in making my jewelry.
I am at a loss to explain why when I woke up one morning about a week ago and I could not raise either arm above shoulder height. I did a little research on the web and started using naproxen sodium instead of acetaminophen. I got marginal relief but finally I had to go see my Doctor.
As If having car problems ($50.00 mobile mechanic and new valve ) and having to make a trip to San Antonio to help my daughter and having my car looked at this month, ($120.00 in gas $60.00 each way for fill up ) having my dryer fixed ($70.00 ) sounded like I was drying bowling balls, I now have to go for MRI's and XRays and a Specialist to figure what going on with my old shoulder joints. Oh yes...I woke up this morning with a sty on my right eye lid. THANKS !!!
Thankfully I got a shot of steroids in the rump and some wonderful new pain killers. The pills makes me sleepy and totally kills my appetite so I may drop a few pounds.
Have a great day......think I'll go take a nap
